Okay here goes (hope you eat meat)

www.coqenpate.dk/ - you need to take the S-train (our tube) to Svanemøllen, a very nice (cheap'ish) place, relaxed, try their sous vide beef for main, it is lovely) not touristy at all.

www.restaurantgorilla.dk/vesterbro#menu, very small servings, but different and nice food. Casual, mid priced. In the meat district.

You can download an app called early bird and check the restaurants on trustpilot, you get a discount if you order from it.

Smørrebrød: please don't go to Ida Davidsen, very touristy.

www.euroman.dk/gastro/guide-8-af-kobenhavns-bedste-smorrebrodsrestauranter hope you can Google translate this link.

If you want to try Smørrebrød the cheap way, go to a supermarked called Føtex (Google it) there you can buy 6 pieces of Smørrebrød for 110 DDK (buy plastic cutlery and eat elsewhere).

Hope this is of help, have a nice trip.

Just check Tripadvisor. It's a great helper for travelers

We did a tour of Norway, Sweden and Denmark over summer. We could have used cashless everywhere.....except for the showers on the campsite.

Other than that - it was all cashless.

Rizraz restaurant near the Round Tower( nice students area) had an amazing veggie buffet, my kids had lovely meat burgers. Really reasonable, very popular with good service.

Thank you to everybody who took time for recommendations. Just back and had the best time. Beautiful clean city and people so warm and friendly. You all definitely helped make our short break a good one. Thanks.
