Anyone got an iMac?

Laptop is old and dying, need to update. We don’t actually use it as a laptop, it doesn’t leave the house and only gets used on a desk with a laptop raiser and a separate keyboard, so I’m thinking something like an IMac is actually better suited to us? Any downsides for owning one?
Or any other desktop type suggestions? An iMac seemed to actually take up less space on a table than a laptop on a stand and keyboard in front and less wires all over the place.

I personally love how I can just switch it on and not worry about updates and how long it takes to boot up

Also that’s my reflection on the operating system as I have a MacBook Air that’s about 7 year old and hasn’t aged a bit .

Thanks that’s great. At times I want to throw my current laptop through the window and I’m not a violent person!
Do you find there’s not much these days that you can’t do on a Mac as opposed to windows?

Thanks Ronnie, already have the iPad and iPhones and like them. Which version/screen size do you have? They come with the basic wireless keyboard and mouse.

I've got one. I love it - it's the third or fourth one that I've owned. I'm a photographer so it's a workhorse for me, but it's also a great home computer. My wife has a Windows laptop and I just can't get on with it.

I don't own any other Apple products though.

Hmm, I was going to go for the 21.5” 4K retina version. I don’t think as I don’t work from home I can justify getting the 27”. The 21.5 seems bigger than most laptops still

I have a 21 inch 2009 model it’s still faster than my new laptop at work. I love it

AiryFairyMum · 29/10/2019 18:19

Yes, I'd never go back to a laptop. Best computer I've ever had.

HuggedTree · 29/10/2019 20:51

Awesome. Next question, getting it through Amazon for the 2019 model seems to be £150 cheaper? And they are selling the previous model cheaper again.
Okay to get through amazon or would you pay full price through Apple?
