I'm so excited about nothing

Upsidedownfrown · 28/10/2019 14:24

Is it really weird to be excited about nothing? I've had an odd, excited feeling all day today. The sort of feeling you get before a holiday or seeing a friend you haven't seen for absolutely ages or a gig you've really been looking forward to. But nothing exciting is happening.

Today has been a distinctly average day, nothing fabulous on the horizon and yet I feel like a little kid on Christmas Eve!

Anyone else ever have days like this or am I the only odd one?

Sounds lovely! Maybe it’s a premonition if great news.

Hecateh · 28/10/2019 14:39

I don't know but whatever is causing it
ENJOY it

ErrolTheDragon · 28/10/2019 14:47

Maybe it's a nice side effect of the clocks changing (lighter morning) and weather - first frost here today, beautiful clear crisp autumn day.

NormaBean · 28/10/2019 14:54

It’s the weather. Stepped out the morning and felt a rush of excitement for the autumn and winter festivities plus I’m always excited to get home when it’s like this. Fire on, pyjamas, cup of tea and decent telly.

I get this OP! Not all day tbf but random fleeting moments of excitement. Tis nice.

MichonnesBBF · 28/10/2019 15:08

This happened to me, butterflies throughout the day but was not nervous or exited, feeling little waves in my stomach but not knowing why, it was very odd...the next day I found out why...

Pregnant Grin

Upsidedownfrown · 28/10/2019 15:16

Omg 0% chance of being pregnant so not that!

Spoke to dh a min ago and told him how I was feeling and all I got was "ooooookaaaayyyyy....." Haha I'm gonna drive him nuts when he gets home from work. Have decided to take ds swimming to try burn off some energy. Will buy a lottery ticket on the way home too. Just in case. Will absolutely share if I win big!

That's weird, I've been having a similar feeling today. However, I have put it down to hormones!

MsChatterbox · 28/10/2019 15:27

Yes! I'm the same! Sometimes I find myself saying out loud "I'm so excited!" then I have to ask myself wait what are you excited about? And I realise nothing lol!

FusionChefGeoff · 28/10/2019 15:30

Is it cos no deal is finally off the cards, for now Grin

Majorcollywobble · 28/10/2019 15:31

Yes I was thinking the same ! Lottery ticket ! Good luck

zippyswife · 28/10/2019 16:45

I have this a lot/most of the time. Literally for years on end. Maybe you’re at the start of a long stint! Enjoy!

EnidButton · 28/10/2019 16:59

I get this occasionally too and often wondered wtf it was about. Probably hormones. Good that they can cause good feelings occasionally too!

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 28/10/2019 17:02

I get that sometimes. I am usually so stressed that "normal" feels fantastic!

Today I put it down to it being very sunny and bright, also the morning was light because of the change of the clocks.

Stravapalava · 28/10/2019 17:19

I've had that feeling this afternoon but it's because I bought my DD some school trousers as she was crying that her tights felt funny this morning. I can't wait for her to find them on her bed. Saddo I am! Grin

CanISpeakToYourManager · 28/10/2019 17:20

MsChatterbox are you my dd? She is often 'so excited!' or having 'the best day ever!' and is a massive chatterbox! Delightful sunny personality unlike her brother :)

cornstarch · 28/10/2019 17:43

Caffeine?

MsChatterbox · 28/10/2019 18:53

@CanISpeakToYourManager haha she sounds like me when I was younger 🤣🤣. I've had so many people tell me I'm easily amused. And someone at work once asked me if anything ever makes me sad or mad 😂. Someone even told me off for being too happy and they couldn't handle it. I can tell you it's a nice way to be so she is all good lol!

CanISpeakToYourManager · 28/10/2019 19:22

Oh thank you for saying that. I think she is a delight and lifts the mood of any room she walks into... I expect others feel the same about you.

Upsidedownfrown · 28/10/2019 19:58

Aww I'm loving hearing about all you other happy people! It's kept my funny mood going. Got a ticket for the euromillions tomorrow. Haven't bought one for years so fingers crossed
