Has anyone come down with an AWFUL cold recently?

Feeling sorry for myself, I have come down with an awful cold, it seems a lot worse than the cold I normally get albeit; I can walk down the stairs so I dont think it's the flu.

Achey back, shooting pains up groin, glands swollen, nose streaming constantly and continuous sneezing and my eyes are also swollen.

Has anyone come down with this awful cold?

Praying it starts to go soon so I can leave the house and also get some sleep at night.

Cry cry cry

Yes me!! Had it about 5 days, but Saturday and yesterday were the worst. I'm feeling a lot better today.

My tips are honey and lemon in hot water with paracetamol. Also I finely chopped a clove of garlic and put it on a spoon with a spoonful of honey and swallowed all at once. Did that twice yesterday. I sounds and tastes awful but honestly I feel 70% better today from. No longer sneezing every 5 mins, blocked running nose gone and no more streaming eyes.

Hope you feel better soon
Thanks

My cold isn’t awful (though it’s certainly not fun!) but my beautician recommended Allicin Max tablets to boost immune system. It’s basically pure garlic (as above) and she is normally quite sceptical of these things but bought these tablets last week & said she felt a million times better overnight. So worth a go!

I had what I thought was this, went to.doctor on day 5 as I was struggling to even get up for the loo. GP said it was flu. Took til day 10 to feel remotely human again and even 2 weeks later I still have a cough and heavy feeling in my chest.

I'm at deaths door (or so it feels right now) the effort of moving from the bed to the couch and then back a couple hours later (and I live in a tiny bungalow) is hell. And I've to cook dinner shortly god help me.

Yes - it's awful. Had mild symptoms for over two weeks then it got really bad with all of the symptoms you describe. I spent nearly a week mostly in bed. Burt eucalyptus oil, took echinacea, massive vit c, paracetamol but I couldn't shake it. After being really ill for a week it eased but I'm now back to the runny eyes and blocked nose. Loads of oriole I kind have had it or got it. Hoping you getter better soon

That would be burnt eucalyptus oil (in a burger in the room) and people not the word predictive text gave me 🤦🏻‍♀️

timetochangeagainforever · 28/10/2019 18:48

Burner not burger - I'm annoying myself now!
