Fucking M&S

Been trying to find out for 30mins if they have 65p pumpkins in my local store.

I say local. It's a 2 mile walk with taxi back with pumpkins so I don't want to walk there if they don't have any.

Called the store. No direct number.

Been put through to customer services 4 times only to be cut off twice and told they can't get through twice.

Why not just have a direct fucking number so I can ring instead of going through a 3rd party crackly line with awful elevator music and people who don't know how to use the switch board or can't get through.

I’ve had the same problem with the local M&S number . Was cut off on numerous occasions after holding forever .
They are also stingy . A recent 20% off on clothing had a small print exclusion for school clothes . Bought them anyway but the assistant took great pleasure in producing a magnifying glass so I could properly read the back of the coupon .

My local ones have direct numbers too.

To be honest it gets very busy working in retail, there’s so many present tasks to do in the moment that dealing with phones is the absolute lowest priority. No one is manning the phones during store opening hours, it’s literally just whoever is on the shop floor and lumbered with the task. You wanting to enquire about 65p pumpkins is unfortunately not a priority.

Personally I would say just go to the store now. If you leave it any longer there’s a high chance they’ll be sold out anyway as Halloween weekend has just gone and the actual 31st is looming.

@Majorcollywobble lol how is that stingy? You purposely bought in a voucher that couldn’t be used against your purchase but tried to get them to apply it anyway. You sound tight and embarrassing.

Stores get busy and they don’t have a dedicated resource to answer phones. If they have a choice of answering phone or dealing with a customer whose already in the store then they will choose the institution customer and let the phone call be forwarded centrally. It’s only a pumpkin either walk there or don’t get one.

M&S = rancid customer service. I have no idea how they survive. However lots of stores are now as hard to contact by phone. JL used to be great and would put things aside for you.
I also got stung by the schoolwear exclusion on the offer. Not entirely sure why it doesn’t count as clothing Hmm

@Lhastingsmuai can assure you I’m neither right nor embarrassing . Unsure how you arrive at this conclusion tbh .
The exclusion was in tiny print on the reverse on the voucher . All I said was the assistant took great pleasure in relaying the information to me . I stumped up payment without demur . Obviously next time I’ll check with my own magnifying glass .......
