Clickable title i couldn't resist Halloween Grin

Someone gave me this turkey, it was frozen in a big bag containing the 3 large boneless skinless breasts. It was so big I just defrosted it on the side for 24 hours but now I am worried i should have defrosted it in the fridge. Do you think it will still be safe to eat if cooked properly?

I have now managed it get it in the fridge. If you do think it's safe I want to roast it then freeze some for later. I'm thinking each breast makes one meal for the family. If I separate the pieces, weigh separately and calculate the cooking time is that correct or will it still take longer if I cook it all together but in separate pieces iyswim. I was just going to smear with garlic butter then roast at 180 for 20mins per on +20 mins like a chicken, will that be sufficient do you think? Lastly how would you go about freezing and reheating the meat i haven't done that before?

I am not sure why there are 3 breasts but hopefully nothing to do with genetic modification.

Wow I’m intrigued! maybe you have two breasts cut into 3? Pretty sure they only have 2. Where would the other one be? Was it an odd shaped turkey? Grin

This meat came from a friend of d h who sometimes buys meat in bulk so I think it is probably something to do with the weight. It really was a huge bag must have been a massive bird (or bird and a half).

Have reposted my thread with a sensible title now in case this one was putting anyone off looking at the thread. Please post on either of them if you have advice as i am hoping to cook this meat today if people agree it's safe.
