New passport signed in blue pen!

Anyone else done this. So excited to receive new passport it’s been signed in a blue pen rather than the stated black! Anyone else done this? I will ring the passport office to see if I need to get it reissued but anyone who’s travelled with one like this may be able to reassure me in the meantime?

Huh, is it a U.K. passport? You don’t don’t sign uk passports after receiving them

Aposterhasnoname · 28/10/2019 10:01

Oh, just found out that you do, can’t recall doing that but I guess I must have

DisplayPurposesOnly · 28/10/2019 10:50

Go over the signature in black pen?

Iggly · 28/10/2019 10:52

Since when do we sign our passports? Don’t they scan our signature?

And what’s exciting about a blue passport when we could have had blue ones when we were part of the EU.

What an appalling waste of money when hospitals and schools crumble.

MyDcAreMarvel · 28/10/2019 10:53

Just go over it on black pen because it has to be black to scan.

She doesn’t mention it being a blue passport. She says it’s a new passport.
She’s just excited (probably used lightheadedly) about its arrival. Not regarding its colour

Everyone who doesn't have a passport with a digital signature

DullPortraits · 28/10/2019 11:02

I just got a new passport renewal as my other one went out of date. They are still same colour just not an EU passport and yes you do have to sign them when u receive them.. i applied for mine online so never signed any paper work beforehand

I received mine last week and it's maroon and you have to sign it in black. I live abroad , so did it all on line. I also lost nearly 6 months as you have to have at least 6 months on it if we leave Europe. Mine would have run out next February, but it's renewed from mid October. It's a 9.5year passport.
