'Stand up' pudding for 20 - what would you make?

I have offered to make a pudding for a sports club event (adults). Someone else is making apple crumble. Has to be something that can be eaten standing up with a fork! I'm feeling uninspired. Not cake. Thanks!

Meringue is so easy. Or chocolate brownie.

Roulade - Simple, quick to cook and looks fab. Chocolate one - yum

There might be something here

A creamy homemade rice pudding - with plenty of jam for people to add if they want. Cheap, easy to do in large quantities, easy to eat standing up, no crumbly bits to land on the floor.

Rice krispie cake or cornflake cake.

Cereal stirred into melted marshmallows, put into a tray to cool and drizzled with chocolate.

Pumpkin pie

Chocolate mousse. Bung it in shot glasses.

Lemon tart. Who doesn't like lemon tart?

totallyradllama · 28/10/2019 21:32

Elton mess? Easier to eat than pavlova

Moneyplants · 28/10/2019 21:36

Elton mess it's like Eton mess but more fabulous.

Cranachan?

For a recent party I made chocolate brownies, tiramisu, mini pecan pies and Delia's chocolate hazelnut roulade. They all went down very well!

KindergartenKop · 29/10/2019 10:44

I would let them construct their own pavlovas. Have a pile of meringue nests (shop bought), a bowl of fruit and a bowl of cream.

WaningGibbous · 29/10/2019 11:12

Passion pudding- use plastic beakers (transparent would be best) Add spoonful of fresh fruit, then dollop of 50/50 mix of whipped double cream and natural yoghurt. Sprinkle on muscovado sugar. Obviously you can do a massive pot as well but it can end up looking less attractive once a few people have attacked it.

Sweet vol-au-vents , I was really sceptical when I saw them at a party a few months ago but they worked well .
They were filled with finely diced mixed fruit, various differing mousses, lemon curd / jam type filling etc and dusted with icing sugar . Easy to make, relatively cheep , easy to eat , and plenty of variety.

maddy68 · 29/10/2019 13:05

I'd do a tray bake cake. Anything else is just messy

Majorcollywobble · 29/10/2019 13:09

Oh yum ! Someone suggested bread and butter pudding ! If you use a loaf of brioche or those little brioche rolls you can get in Lid it’s delicious and just a notch above the usual . Soak the fruit in a little Marsala if you want to push the boat out- make sure custard base still has a bit of a wobble .
