Utter agony with my toe - pic included

I've had a bad toe for weeks, I've had 4 types of antibiotics and it will not budge. The only relief I get is when I do my warm salty water soaks.

I have a podiatry appointment booked but it's not for another three weeks.

I've attached a pic - anyone know what it is?! My whole toe is sore and weeps/bleeds! Excuse the outgrown gels - it wouldn't be too wise to start messing about with removing gel/applying polishes Grin

It’s a I growing toenail, they can be very sore and uncomfortable.

Is that gel polish? Someone I know had to have her nail removed because the gel polish leaked into the sides of her nail and wouldn’t come off.

The nail isn't actually long or cutting in though? When it originally started my nails were short. It's just not getting better Sad will they have to take my nail off?

It is gel polish but I don't think it's leaked into the sides? The whole toe is just painful 😩

It looks like my in grown toenail used to

It looks ingrown. Can you lift the edge of the nail after you’ve soaked it for a bit and run your fingernail around the edge to lift the bed up a bit? Dd gets these a lot (teenage) and if she does that she finds that lots more pus comes out (grim) and then it starts to ease as some of the pressure is gone. She then bungs a load of germolene over the top.

Get some magnesium sulphate paste from the chemist, slather it on and plaster your toe up. The mag sulph draws the infection out (it's called drawing ointment). Repeat for a couple of days, salt bathing before each reapplication.
