Do iPhones/iPads automatically change the time, GMT?

Out of interest.

I do need to wake up tomorrow on an alarm, but luckily, not super early!

Can I rely on my iPhone alarm?

Getting up early on the day the clocks go back is easy because your body clock thinks that it's an hour later than the new time.

We fell foul of automatic time updates when on holiday in Tenerife because our phones automatically updated to mainland Spanish time which is one hour ahead but the Canaries are on the same time as the UK.

I knew about this and changed my phone but DP didn't and he was rushing and flapping and I didn't realise why, while I was having a leisurely breakfast and sit around because we had ages before we had to go out to go see about a sporting activity that we'd arranged.
