What series to watch next?

DH and I enjoy watching a series together but are stuck on what to watch next. We have enjoyed:

Breaking bad
Man in the high castle
Vikings
Gotham
Game of thrones
Bodyguard
Good omens
Black sails
The boys

Obviously the above varies from about 4 episodes to 8 series. We don’t mind. And some are still making new series. but are a bit stumped about what to watch next. Any suggestions? Oh we have prime and sky but not Netflix

Lurking for ideas, also no Netflix.
Have you watched grey's anatomy or the walking dead? Both good. Mad men was on sky, loved that. Also really enjoyed Riviera.

midsomermurderess · 26/10/2019 23:08

Succession is a great watch. It's on Sky.

VanyaHargreeves · 26/10/2019 23:10

If you have Prime then

Bosch

Its a cop series, lots of actors from other well known shows, and even though its like standard "divorced single dad cop who is a maverick who doesnt play by the rules" vibe
its highly watchable uf you want a crime series

If you liked Breaking Bad then I definitely recommend watching the Netflix series Better Call Saul.
It’s a prequel to Breaking Bad and follows the crooked lawyer Saul. There are other familiar faces too.. I won’t give too much away!
So far there are 4 series, each with 10 episodes.
DH and I are currently up to series 3 and are binge watching them at every opportunity!
I really recommend it.

BigGlasses · 26/10/2019 23:16

Forgot to say We have watched Carnival row too.

Just looked and succession looks good. Will suggest to DH.

I keep suggesting Sneaky Pete but DH isn’t sure, anyone watched it. He is keen on trying The Expanse but I’m not sure.

Bosch looks good. Lots of series which is good. I keep forgetting about Better Call Saul. Great suggestions, thanks.

Succession is the best series I have seen for years - absolutely brilliant.
The Capture
The Handmaids Tale
The Deuce (from the same people who made The Wire)

Cherrysoup · 26/10/2019 23:46

I-land on Prime.

CodLiverOil556 · 26/10/2019 23:47

Grimm is good!

GsMama19 · 26/10/2019 23:49

The Boys is apparently really good on prime Smile

Fstar · 26/10/2019 23:55

Unbelievable on netflix
Succession
Justified
The sinner on netflix
Jessica Jones on netflix

VanyaHargreeves · 26/10/2019 23:58

The OP doesn't have Netflix

The I-Land is on Netflix not Prime and it is total and utter dross worst thing I've watched in ages

Shortysoso · 27/10/2019 00:00

Succession is on Amazon. We just started series 2. Didn’t disappoint . . .

VanyaHargreeves · 27/10/2019 00:16

This is where these threads get so frustrating. So much confusion as to what is on what service these days.

Succession is a HBO series, all HBO series are exclusive to Sky in the UK

You can watch it on a Firestick via Amazon Instant but only if you pay per series/episode

So yes its "on" there but it is NOT included with Prime

chocafrolic · 27/10/2019 00:25

Good girls on Netflix. Has Christina Hendricks in. Bit like breaking bad meets good housewives. Me & DH enjoyed it 😁

chocafrolic · 27/10/2019 00:26

Ps get Netflix! Much better than prime!!

ladybird69 · 27/10/2019 00:32

An old one but a good one is Prison Break with Wentworth Miller. Great for binge watching.

Talisin · 27/10/2019 00:38

The Expanse is brilliant but it does take a few episodes to get into it.

Shortysoso · 27/10/2019 00:39

I didnt say it was on prime. Increasingly, not much worth watching is on prime but succession 1 & 2 are on amazon and worth paying for imo.

LarkDescending · 27/10/2019 00:42

Guilt on iPlayer (BBC Scotland). Only 1 ep available so far out of 4, but very watchable black comedy.

Persimmonn · 27/10/2019 00:43

Yeah, if you’ve watched BB, then naturally, you need to watch Better Call Saul.

Game of Thrones
West World is pretty good
The Walking Dead
American Horror Story (I only enjoyed Coven, murder house and apocalypse)

Blahblahblahnanana · 27/10/2019 00:49

Fleabag, gentleman jack and killing eve all on iPlayer. I also like cuckoo that’s on iPlayer too.

FanSpamTastic · 27/10/2019 01:10

Giri/Haji on iPlayer. It's great!

BigGlasses · 27/10/2019 09:51

Thanks for all the suggestions. Will look through and I’m sure we’ll find something. May need to lookinto Netflix too. But on top of prime and sky the cos mount up! We have prime for the delivery service but found the streaming handy.

The Act - it’s on Prime but you have to sign up for Starzplay you get a week free so may be able to watch it in this time

It’s based on a true story of a woman who is murdered her teenage disabled daughter who has a number of serious health conditions and has the mental capacity of someone much younger is missing

But her daughter isn’t disabled or ill or a teenager

It’s based on the story of Gypsy Blancharde and her mother’s Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy it’s fascinating and very sad the acting is amazing
