I have never tried decaf. Does it tastes the same as the caffeine version?!

Azero decaf is ok for instant

Lavazza decaf for proper coffee

JenniferM1989 · 26/10/2019 20:45

I can't do decaff. Maybe from a coffee shop or a machine but instant decaff is horrible. I tried decaff when I was pregnant and it made me sick so I never drank any type of coffee the whole time I was pregnant since decaff wasn't an option. I stick to azera americano - the caffeinated version these days (not pregnant)

OneBiscuitAtATime · 26/10/2019 20:51

L’Or and Percol are nice, nicer than a lot of caffeinated instants.

Aldi for me.

Are you serious? I bought some the other day. DH spat it out!

It was truly awful.

BellaBattenburg · 26/10/2019 20:59

I really enjoy Kenco Decaff instant coffee- though I always make my coffee with all skimmed milk.

5starshow · 26/10/2019 21:07

I had to change to decaf for health reasons and tried lots of instants. My favourite, and the one I use all the time is Kenco.

Elderflower14 · 26/10/2019 21:13

@ConFusion360 If we all liked the same things life would be very dull!! 😉

lazylinguist · 26/10/2019 21:16

Most ground decaf coffee is fine imo. My favourite is Booths own, but not everyone lives near a Booths! Decaf instant is vile imo (well, all instant really).

Sexnotgender · 26/10/2019 21:20

Nescafé Azera.

Heatingson · 26/10/2019 21:20

And cafe direct fair trade is fine.

Isabeau1980 · 26/10/2019 22:50

Pónaire. They're an Irish brand. They have a roastery not far from where I live.

Their coffee, including decaf, is divine.

4th-ing Azera. I stock up when it is on offer.

Rosere · 27/10/2019 00:24

Kenco.

Tesco did an OK one if you're stuck.

Have tried all sorts and they range from rotten to vile. Lidl is possibly the worst I've tasted.

ConFusion360 · 27/10/2019 08:14

That's very true. Watching DH reaction to Aldi decaf was certainly entertaining.

We usually drink Kenco.

Trewser · 27/10/2019 08:32

Haven't tried Aldi but the Lidl one was vile.

Azera americano is the only one I will actually choose to drink.

HappyHarlot · 27/10/2019 09:13

DH has Percol instant decaf and swears by it.

Kenworthington · 27/10/2019 09:20

It’s often tasteless imo but I love a strong tasting coffee. We have lavazza decaf ground for our espresso machine and it’s great

Branleuse · 27/10/2019 09:36

I cant tell the difference between instant decaff and instant normal, but ive not found a good decaffienated ground coffee.
my favourite instant decaff is percol, but actually the aldi one is ok.

WingDefence · 27/10/2019 09:41

DH is a coffee snob (doesn’t drink decaf) and makes his with proper ground coffee every day. I drink decaf instant and use whatever is on offer as I can’t really tell the difference in taste - I think it’s the Kenco one I’m using at the moment.

Now if you want to know about a decent decaf tea, I can help you out there... ☺️

JohnCRaven · 27/10/2019 23:13

Nescafe Azera or Nespresso Decaf. Anything else instant decaf wise is undrinkable

MilkandMoney · 31/10/2019 08:13

Thanks everyone, I bought azera decaff as it was on offer in sainsburys. I'm not sure I like the bloody taste! I usually like sort creamy type ones like nescafe gold blend ot nescafe espresso!

The next one on my decaff list is percol or l'or.

I like Millicano instant decaf.

jjoplin76 · 26/05/2021 09:04

After trying all teas, I went back to coffee but wanted to avoid caffeine however most decaffeinated coffee taste awful, I tried Taylors but couldn't get on with t=it but tried this lissons.co.uk/shop/douwe-egberts-decaffeinated-coffee-beans-1-x-500g/ and it's great. I like my coffee strong and this does taste great.

BettyUnderswoob · 26/05/2021 09:12

I use Tesco Finest ground No.3 decaff in my Moka pot. It's nice and rich.

Kenko instant sometimes.

BettyUnderswoob · 26/05/2021 09:13

Yorkshire Tea decaff is nice, as some have mentioned tea.
