I'm late thirties. Today I lost my last grandparent. I know I am very lucky to have had a grand parent for so long and that my children knew her. I was privileged to spend the last 24 hours with her.
I wish there was a word for not having any grandparents. If I lost my parents I would be an orphan. We lost my mum last year so this is the last remaining older female in my line, just my sisters and I really in that part of the family.
