So it's 30 years time, your children are holding a dinner party to reminisce about 2019

What food will they serve to remind them about the joys of their childhood?

If DS has anything to do with it, he'll be after Pizza Express pizzas and lots of meat, pasta and gravy!

But what will your children be serving to remind others of the food of their childhood?

(inspired by the dinner party thread)

My kids are adult now. If they were remembering their childhood it would be BBQ (probably in the rain). We barbequed so much when they were kids. Mainly just sausage and burgers though then. When we get together we often do still do it but with a bigger variety of food.

littlecupcake · 26/10/2019 10:55

Churros with chocolate sauce to do into!

littlecupcake · 26/10/2019 10:55

I think this era will be remembered for the rise in veganism - energy balls made from almond butter, dates and cacao etc. Not sure about kids though - mine enjoy the same foods I did as a child 30 years ago, eg fish fingers and spaghetti Bolognese.

HerRoyalNotness · 26/10/2019 11:43

A side of salmon and a pavlova. Remember how mum made us the best dinners they’ll say.

AntCrawley · 26/10/2019 11:46

Smashed avocado and stiracha
Lidl pizza
Pistachio ice cream
Caramel pop corn
Pasta pesto
Bear yoyo

cricketmum84 · 26/10/2019 11:52

Came on to say the same as @DippyAvocado

I think the last year or so will be remembered as when veganism really took off. They will be serving lentil loaf, avocado, cheese made with cashews... lots of Edamame beans! Or cauliflower tacos! And definitely drinking artisan gin.

sandandc · 26/10/2019 11:53

Jollof rice, curry goat, veggie stir fry
Homemade fruit juice lollies
Lemon drizzle cake
Mojitos for me their DM

My DS is 18 now - for him and his GF I think it's Subway and McDonalds on a delivery app. They don't make a sandwich - just get it delivered! They also like KFC and Nando's - anything in a bun with chips ; with the occasional bowl of pasta. Washed down with a couple of cans of Stella!

He does eat fruit and does an active job ...

grafittiartist · 26/10/2019 12:34
