Best budget tablet

I need a new tablet but funds are tight so looking for a bargain. I need it for work, we use an app but isn't a big app, uses cloud so memory doesn't have to be massive.

Bonus would be decent enough to stream some Netflix etc.

Any suggestions that won't break the bank needs to be android (or apple but there out my price range) for work app.

*I can in theory use my mobile for work app hence why I'm self funding its just easier and much quicker to use it a bigger screen.

I can tell you what not to buy: an amazon fire.

Great spec for the money. The OS is frustrating and primitive, the adverts are intrusive and it locks out google so the range of apps available is terrible.

If you only wanted it for streaming amazon stuff it would be fine.

Currently using an Amazon Fire with Google Play Store installed. Not sure why you've had a problem donquixote?

I've had this coming up for two years, it's brilliant.

The adverts only come up on mine when it's on lock screen. They disappear when you open it. Can't see how they would be intrusive?

Presumably you side loaded it? The apps don't all work perfectly, I'd rather have vanilla android.

My dc has a fire and the app isn't available.
Admittedly I don't know how to side load the Google app store. I could try it on dc's and see how it works before buying my own @MrsMaiselsMuff any tips on how to get Google app store?

Which have just done a review of tablets- and include their selection of best budget tablets and 3 dont buys. Doyou know anyone with an account?

I have a Lenovo tablet that cost about £70 from Argos. I haven't had any issues with it, and it does everything I need it to do.

For Amazon Fire tablets, you can pay £10 more when you buy it to opt out of adverts. You could the last time I checked anyway.

I really don't think it's worth spending a lot of money on a tablet, it just isn't necessary. Argos have a few tablets under £100 so it's worth having a look.

Whatsthesmell · 25/10/2019 21:25

@SpringFan I don't know any one with an account for which.
@MoreSchnitzelPlease I seen a few under £100 but I have. I idea if they would be any good.
Turns out I can't get the required app on amazon fire. Just asked my colleagues. Wasn't keen on fire as my dc's is really slow. Although could be it was bought as a refurb on a older model almost a year ago.

Leveno Tab 10 inch £100 in currys. I was in the same situation (not trying to break the bank). Has worked perfectly, space for a memory card, apps all work fine. Defo a good buy
