Shall I get up and have a bath?

DS came and got in bed with me at 4, and fidgeted long enough to wake me properly (Thanks DS). My alarm is set for 5 so not much point in trying to get back to sleep now. Shall I have a bath? Who else is up?

Mothers instinct made me check on my toddler an hour ago - he’d vommed all over his bed. Now in with me wriggling but asleep, I’m wide awake

QueenWhatevs · 25/10/2019 04:28

Oh noooooo :(

Yes to the bath, it'll be lovely!
I'm up because my cat climbed on the garage roof and miaowed through the bedroom window at 2am, I tried to ignore it as I don't want it to be a habit, then I needed the loo and a drink for my tickley throat, then my 16w baby who had her 3rd injections was up.
Now the cat's asleep in the spare room, the baby's asleep on me, and my husband's asleep in bed. I'm wide awake on the sofa.

I’m in a similar situation. Ds1 climbed in about half an hour ago, hot and sticky after a nightmare. He wriggled next to me for a while and is now fast asleep. I Had no room so came to sleep in his bed, just in time to see Ds2 fall out of his bed, so now I’ve got his sweaty confused head lying on my arm in a single bed. I’m just about to attempt to hug and roll to get into DS1’s bed. DH, of course, has slept through the whole thing.

Won’t a bath wake the whole house though? Get up and make coffee and eagch the world from the window? Ot just chill out on MN for a bit? BrewFlowers

Morning! Oh yes to a lovely bath 😁 Some ‘you’ time before the day starts.

I’m up because I had a headache and had to take some tablets and now I can’t get back to sleep.

QueenWhatevs · 25/10/2019 04:38

DS has hearing difficulties, DD won't go to sleep but when she does a brass band wouldn't shift her, and DH snores louder than the running water so I don't think the bath will wake anyone :)

My bf is staying. I went to bed early, he fell asleep watching TV on the couch. He came to bed at 3am with the grace of a baby elephant, woke me up and promptly fell straight back to sleep.

I'm really stressed just now and have insomnia sleep is precious atm, so that was helpful.

lilsquish · 25/10/2019 04:43

I'm up because Dd (nearly 3) had a bad dream and wanted in for a cuddle, she's now fidgeting away beside me while I type this.

Dd2 (6mths) is on other side, awake. I'm trying to feed her back to sleep.

Have a lovely bath :-)

katmarie · 25/10/2019 04:43

I'm up because dh is snoring, hes got a rotten cold, and I'm 40+9 and super uncomfortable. Sleep seems off the cards this morning. Sadly our bathroom is the ensuite in our bedroom, and a bath would definitely wake dh, otherwise I would be doing the same. Enjoy your peace and quiet in the tub. I'm settling for coffee and the couch.

Namaste6 · 25/10/2019 04:47

I'm awake because the foxes are out and about. They keep setting the security lights off. Dogs are on my bed a bit jittery as a result and the cat flap has just gone. Contemplating making a cup of tea.

fruitypancake · 25/10/2019 04:48

I'm awake, I've been going to sleep at 9-9.30 due to being so tired and now I'm worried I've shifted my whole sleep pattern as keep waking early but of course will be shattered come 9pm! Feel tired but wide awake Angry

QueenWhatevs · 25/10/2019 04:49

Argh 40+9? I only got to 40+8 with DD and I was a massive ball of rage and pain by then. You seem very calm @katmarie

Same here @fruitypancake (also now I want pancakes). The DC have sleep trained me to wake no later than 5.45 no matter what.

Been up since around 2:30 as the cat (who never comes upstairs) came upstairs, jumped on my bed and then decided to walk the full length of me. Several times. I told him he was a bastard in the early stages of dementia and came down and settled in my big comfy armchair. No prizes for guessing what the bloody cat did next! If he wasn't 19 and generally much loved he would be down the road to cat rescue later this morning.

He has now decided he needs to go out, so I have let him and am sitting in fear of a less than compos mentis cat wandering around in the dark... so I still can't sleep.

I would love a leisurely bath right now but a) would fall asleep in the bath, b) would wake the neighbours as my pipes bang at night time and c) would doubtless have to get out to let the cat back in.

So, I shall sit here and sulk while I cook a nice fresh chicken breast for the damned cat

StumpyinSomerset · 25/10/2019 04:58

I've been up since 4.05am. No idea why. My alarm was set for 7am but I'm downstairs on the pc,heating and snuggly, huge man's dressing gown on,with a hot chocolate. Not sure if it's worth going back to bed once I've finished my drink,or just have a nap later.

QueenWhatevs · 25/10/2019 05:01

Oooh nap. Lovely.

I only have a training day today (mandatory, easy, probably boring). Might manage a 10 minute power nap on the tube afterwards.

I'm fairly calm, mostly because I have an induction booked in for Monday, so the end is in sight. I'm more bored than anything, can't walk too far, getting tired very easily, so not really doing a lot right now. I'm also not completely surprised we are where we are because I was 40+8 with DS and that ended in induction too. I will most likely take a nap on the sofa later too, DS is in nursery today so I'll have some time to snuggle up on the sofa with the dogs later.

Juanbablo · 25/10/2019 05:46

Been awake since 4:50am. I haven't been sleeping well, feeling super stressed due to a lot of things. So I got up and came downstairs to have a cup of tea and paint my nails.

nogooddeedgoesunpunished · 25/10/2019 05:52

Been awake since 5.30. DS joined me in bed all sweaty around 2.30! He's snoring now and I'm wide awake. Cup of tea and mn until 6.30 I think. Sod's law he'll wake up if I have my shower.

Ohhhthepain · 25/10/2019 06:39

@KeepYourCup I hope you managed some more sleep, I’m the same at the moment and my husband was cuddling me in bed the other night and kissed my shoulder (romantic) which was lovely but I was actually managing to nod off at a normal time not 4 in the morning and it woke me up, I was gutted. It’s bloody tough laying there whilst your head thinks of everything it possibly can, none of which is as bad in the morning!

Op, and everyone up in the wee hours, hope you all have a restful day.

QueenWhatevs · 25/10/2019 06:54

DS woke up at 5.10 and refused to settle, DH had to literally prise him off me, the car park at the station was closed so now despite being up since 4, I may well be late!
