Discharge like losing mucus plug

Bloody hope the name change has worked!

Little bit worried - been having strong cramps all day, like the start of contractions not low down like period pains but all up in my stomach
Also just went to the loo and a massive load of jelly like discharge came out (not blood stained)

I cannot be pregnant- haven't had sex since 2015 so unless it's the longest gestation known to man....

Any ideas what it could be or do I need to see someone? Or my preferred option of ignore it and hope it goes away?!

Well in the absence of a possible pregnancy it doesn't sound like a full on emergency but I'd be booking a gp appointment if it doesn't disappear. And obviously if you end up in dire agony overnight then it does upgrade to immediate medical attention required! Is it keeping you awake?

Are you in the UK?

If so, ring 111 and talk to a nurse / doctor

Embarrassingquestionshere · 25/10/2019 08:09

I tried to sleep - cramps still there but not as sore

Could this be egg White cervical mucus?
Was it stretchy?
You could be ovulating. I get cramps (was hospitalised when younger because they mimicked appendicitis) like this when I ovulate.

SunshineFlower · 25/10/2019 08:15

I'm sorry to go there... But theres no chance you could have been assaulted whilst unconscious is there?

Embarrassingquestionshere · 25/10/2019 08:22

@SunshineFlower don't worry, it's good to ask (I work with vulnerable women so have to ask a lot!)

I don't think so - no partner so no man around regularly who would have had the opportunity to do that and small-ish children means I don't go out loads and when I do, I'm never drunk enough to the point that I've blacked out

Possibly ovulating? Do you track your periods?

I don't get it all the time, but on the odd month I do get the mucusy type stuff which is stringy and revolting when I'm ovulating.

Embarrassingquestionshere · 25/10/2019 08:43

I don't know if it would be ovulating- it isn't that kind of pain and it was a big 'blob' (maybe half a tennis ball size) of jelly stuff - not clear or stringy

Have you had a smear test recently? Definitely worth speaking to someone and having a check up either way.

nespressowoo · 25/10/2019 09:08

Could it be mucous from your bottom? I have IBS and when I have horrendous tummy cramps I also pass a lot of mucous.

SunshineFlower · 25/10/2019 12:10

Absess/ infection?

PonteLaCorona · 25/10/2019 13:33

Erm... was it a big or sudden poo? If I have a big or sudden poo it sometimes pushes some EWCM out if its around that time anyway? Blush
Big poo would explain the stomach cramps too?

But you know last time I read a thread like this, there was a surprise baby update the next day Shock
