Is there a bug going round?

Just wondering if anyone else has whatever someone has given me? Started over a week ago with sore throat and feeling knackered but thought I'd shake it off over weekend. Roll on to now and I've spent most of my week off on holiday feeling nauseous, sore throat, hot and cold and generally run down. I'm so fed up as was really looking forward to getting out on my week off 😕

Definitely. My littlest has been off for 2 days now with sore throat, absolutely exhausted and sleeping all day, coughing to the point of being sick and temp up and down constantly.

Not fun at all. I keep spraying everything with dettol in the hope we don't all end up with it!

Exactly the same here. Can’t wait for it to go - exhausted, sore throat, runny eyes and headache for a few weeks now.

Bluhooty · 24/10/2019 23:58

Yes I've had this! Started as a really bad sore throat and then developed other cold symptoms and felt tired and achy for weeks after. Loads of people I know have had it and many have developed nasty coughs that have lingered too.

Ah yes now coughing too and ribs hurt, let's hope no one else gets it as really is nasty!

Exactly how I have felt. Seemed to come out of nowhere and very quickly

Switcher33 · 25/10/2019 09:34

Exactly the same! I'm in london and everyone in my office seems to have come down with it.

Delatron · 25/10/2019 10:39

Yes it’s awful. Starts with constant nausea then sore throat and dry cough, exhaustion...Mine went away and came back after I thought I was better and overdid it. I would recommend lots of rest!

FireUnderpants · 25/10/2019 10:42

We have it here in North London. It's wiped out most of ks1 and school staff. Vomiting and a terrible cough and sore throat.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/10/2019 11:04

I've been feel off colour for the last week. Feverish, no appetite, floppy and lethargic, dizzy when standing up, nauseous but not vomiting. DH was the same. He recovered in two days, it took me at least four, and most of that was spent in bed.

We think we picked it up on a flight back to the UK.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/10/2019 11:06

The symptoms you are all describing are those I had a year ago, I was ill for literally weeks, eventually needed antibiotics.

Don't give it to me again!

Damntheman · 25/10/2019 11:21

I had this a few weeks ago, hit me like a brick wall! I felt functional again after a few days but the cough and tiredness lingered for a really long time.

MrsBungle · 25/10/2019 11:23

Me! I’m in bed now. Sore throat, sore when I breathe in. Started just by feeling really tired last weekend. I’m going on holiday on Monday, hope it buggers off before then.

confusednorthner · 25/10/2019 16:39

I managed to take kids to town for lunch and wander but feel like I need a nap now! I work in ks1 , will be antibacing everything next week as don't want a second dose.

To be fair, there are pretty much always bugs going around...

Guineapig456 · 25/10/2019 19:13

DM has had it for almost three weeks and still feels really poorly. Aches and pains, no appetite and a hacking cough. GP said it was an upper respiratory tract infection and to keep warm, take paracetamol and plenty of fluids. But she’s so fed up now of feeling so unwell. I hope everyone feels better soon. 🌸
