The BT ad - how many ways does it bug you?

"It was the best of times..." as she's walking along.

If she leaves the house while it's pitch dark, how come she's so clearly late for school?

How far is she supposed to be walking?!

And how exactly is it an advert for BT???

I really, really hate it. It's so slow and annoying and I wish she'd talk faster.

I think it's to promote BT putting 5 million kids through tech school or something. I know that purely because I just watched it again to tweet my annoyance about it.

I really like it, but then I also think it's one of the greatest openings to a book ever and just love the quote.

A Tale Of Two Cities is a great book, and the ending with the seamstress is very moving.

My son is in this ad as an extra (he is the one in the classroom that the teacher is leaning over and chatting to.)

From my limited knowledge - the teacher in the ad is the actual computer science teacher who invented the Barefoot programme for schools to teach coding www.barefootcomputing.org

I think the ad is meant to be about the future of our world being children and tech - something like that!

Wiifitmama · 25/10/2019 11:20

I should have said, the Barefoot programme is a BT initiative of course!

Simonsaysitschristmas · 25/10/2019 11:23

Oh I like it. Although I did think it was an advert for getting into teaching rather than for BT the first time I saw it.

HelloYouTwo · 25/10/2019 11:27

If she wasn’t dawdling along quoting stuff she wouldn’t be late. And she doesn’t seem to be in trouble for being late. Just swans in still chatting. Very poor behaviour Wink

I thought it was an ad for teaching too at first!

Good to hear that it is a real teacher 😀
