It's me and DH and a 13 year old. We want to go somewhere hot ish in July or August next year. Hotel preferably with lots to do and a nice pool. Also would like stuff to do away from the pool - but nothing that involves a 3 hour bus excursion type trip!

Open to going further afield but ideally want somewhere like Italy, Greece maybe ? We went to turkey the other year and the hotel and food was great as was the pool but the entertainment was so so boring

Any suggestions please?

We enjoyed Terra Natura in Benidorm with its own zoo and water park plus free bus into town

It’s more like centre parks abroad very clean and good food choices

My standard answer - have you considered a cruise?
It ticks all your boxes.

we went to Kos last year good bus service, theres a good water park, Kos town is good for a mooch round if you hire a car the island isnt too big to go to most of it , went to Benalmedena in spain this year and liked it theres loads to do , the marina, boat trips, a cable car ride with a falcon show at the top, a funfair place that opens at night tivoli world, bars, cafes a huge beach, gibralta is reachable by excursion and though we didnt do it you can go over to Morroco easily

Club Med, pricey but amazing food and sports and activities non stop.

Helps if you speak a bit of French.

Have Clubs in all places you mention. All stunning locations.

Personally, I wouldn't go to Benidorm in July/August, it is fab in low season though.

Seconding the idea of a cruise. We did an Adriatic one this summer with DS who is 10 and all had an amazing time.

I had my wedding at Tui sensatori Aphrodite hills.

Adults pool. Kids pool.

Separate big infinity pool.

Activities all day and of a night they had a live show, was actually quite good.

The food was gorgeous and they had several restaurants on site you could book into which were included in the AI and a couple that were not. The cocktails were all on the AI and they made them all fresh in front of you and they were all fabulous.

Live music outside of a night on the terrace where there is a bar and a cocktail hut.

There was a Costa and a Haagen Dazs shop onsite.

It has a pga golf course on site also.

There is an app called tui sensatori where you can see the daily activities.

I loved it there.

Ooh some fab suggestions thank you

Can't do a cruise I'm afraid - I'm very very very seasick and also have a fear of boats and generally hate idea of it

Have a look at TUI Splashworld holidays.

Mustbetimeforachange · 24/10/2019 19:03

Try Neilson holidays too

Lisbon, or Cascais just outside. Lots of trains, beach, city, aquarium, good food, not too expensive and cooler in July/aug than the med
