Like Toucan Box but ideas only/less wasteful?

I had a free Toucan Box for DS who has suddenly got into arts and crafts. The ideas were great and he enjoyed the crafts and games but I found it a) expensive for what it is and b) wasteful.

Is there a magazine or something with puzzles and craft ideas but so we could use our own stuff? We have loads of glue and glitter etc, we just need a few ideas to get us going.

I spotted a few craft for kids/things to do on a rainy day books at our local library the other day. Am not familiar with Toucan Box but may give you some ideas?

How old is your DS? If you look in the children's magazines section of the supermarket/ WHS/ wherever, there are a few. CBBC/ Cbeebies did one with art and crafts ideas in and a gift on the front with some of the stuff you needed to make the ideas inside. My older DD had a different one but that was very girly. I don't know what there is for boys who might be too old for the bbc ones.

Thanks, good ideas. He’s 6. His reading writing are still developing but he’s got lots of imagination when prompted.

Buy loads of stuff from the pound shop then look online for inspiration. There are so many brilliant websites/blogs/pinterest etc.
