Tired mama

Hi. I'm mum to a beautiful baby who is breastfed. I'm just looking to see if there's any advice to get him to go longer than 2 hours between feeds. He has always done this even over night and more frequent when going through a leap. I'm very close to giving up but don't want to. I really appreciate any advice!

It’s really difficult I’ve been there. How old is he? If he’s old enough for solids give him some before bed ( about 10pm) then breast feed to sleep. I used fruit purée at about 6 months then as he got older beef stew.
The hardest points for breastfeeding for me were 6-7 months and 18-20 months.
I actually topped up with prescription formula as DS is allergic to milk at 6-8 months because it was the only way I could keep going

He's 5 months. I really don't want to give up but I'm that tired every day I'm starting to not enjoy it.

You could try a bottle or sippy cup of formula at about 10pm to see if it fills him up a bit more. It does get easier when they start eating solids which mine didn’t until he was about 8 months.
It ebbs and flows there are times when I don’t enjoy it but then a few weeks later it’s ok again. I’m still feeding him at 2.5

Can you get him to take a bottle for a feed so that your partner can do one while you get a chunk of sleep.

It’s the only way I continued. I’d feed say about 8 and then go straight to sleep and dh would do a feed about 10.30/11 so I could sleep until the next one about 2am.
