Help! Stuck under a sleeping kitten..

Bought baby Demelza home today. She seems happy! She’s been purring and kneading at me as soon as the kids went to bed and it was quiet. I tried putting her to bed in the kitchen with the door shut with her bed, a blanket, water & litter. But she was crying and it hurt my heart!

I came downstairs and opened the door and she was actually in her bed.

But I felt guilty and she was sat At her bowl so I fed her abit (she’s mega greedy! And was actually climbing up the back of my legs for food..?)

And now she’s passed out on me on the sofa!

What do I do? Wake her and put her in the kitchen? Try and sleep on said sofa? 😩

Put your husband in the kitchen Wink

Bung the husband in the kitchen, move the kitten into your bedroom. She’s only a baby, he’s not. Seriously, it seems unnecessarily harsh to leave a crying kitten in a room alone. I always have my foster kittens in my bedroom.

I would have her in the bedroom as she is so tiny and will be lonely. As kittens my cats were permanently with me for security, they followed me from room to room. They were like babies and just cried all night unless they were with us. We put them in a bed in the bedroom.

They are a year old now and sleep in their beds in the living room even if our bedroom door is open.

She is so cute!

Oh and kittens eat LOADS. My vet told me to feed them on demand when they are that little as their tummies are so small. I left biscuits down for them to graze on

Oh heck yes. They need ALL THE FOOD ALL THE TIME it's a nightmare. Wet food as well as dry, so do wet two/three times a day and keep a big bowl of dry and a waterbowl.

Oh I remember when our cat was small. It's just like having a baby again. I had to do the washing up with one hand as he insisted on being carried always.

Our cats always slept in the kitchen, even as kittens, but there were two of them.

She slept absolutely fine, she had a poo in her later tray. Husband got up at 4 and played with her for an hour before he went work. Then we were up at 6. She’s so clingy 😂 she climbed up my leg earlier when I was making breakfast. She’s calmed down with her eating. She seems very settled.

She keeps purring and rubbing herself against my hands. 😍😍😭

Best advice get another one. 2 kittens growing up together are actually less work than one. They play and sleep together it's amazing to watch too

I think this is just your life now OP. If you have a job you need to hand in your notice so you can be available for nap facilitation at all times.

Try one of your jumpers wrapped round a warmish hot water bottle in a smallish box. Worked for our kitten.

You are her body slave, your sole purpose in life is to cater to her every whim and demand. As they get older and the weather gets colder, this can mean sitting still for hours - although you do have a lovely lap warmer!

Look at her 😩🥰🥰🥰I’m so uncomfortable though. Need new sofas if I’m going to have to commit to the sitting down life!
