What’s everyone doing over half term?

I was supposed to be working today (Childminder) but child not coming as I'll. I'm in bed with tea and toast and Dds are on their kindles - it's raining and we are all cosy inside. Feel a bit guilty but indulgent laziness is good sometimes!

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/10/2019 11:21

No, just one week @Greenbutterlfy566. Is yours longer?

Greenbutterlfy566 · 24/10/2019 12:19

Just the one here

Ours is next week as well. Tomorrow DD has a party at school (Diwali) and is excited to wear her favourite party dress. Then DM is coming to pick her up and take her back to hers for a sleepover just the two of them. I've got work on Saturday and then on Sunday morning me and DS are heading up to DM's as well for the rest of the week.

Hoping that things will be quieter there as all the schools near her are off this week. The only thing we've got planned is the Science Museum on Friday. We always have loads of plans and then run out of days!

Our half term was last week, DC back at school now.

Fishcakey · 24/10/2019 13:52

Greenbutterlfy566 · 24/10/2019 14:34

tinytemper66 · 24/10/2019 14:36

Still in school here! One more day!!

Drabarni · 24/10/2019 14:38

Our second week and mine is revising and practising for assessments and GCSE's. Seen family a bit, a few trips shopping, and generally chilling as a family.
V. lucky that work doesn't get in the way of school holidays.

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/10/2019 18:46

Just one night away for a mini road trip. Premier Inn here we come Wink

elephantoverthehill · 24/10/2019 18:52

Everyone else around here has 2 weeks but we are on one week, still I would rather have an extra week in the summer. We're off to London for a city break with extended family.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 24/10/2019 19:16

We are going to a pumkin farm

Only private schools get longer than a week (some state do get strategically placed inset days on the end though)

Last day of half term here. I've put mine in swing school - so a lesson everyday at 10am. We also had dentist one day, haircuts, homework. I know how to have a good time Grin

We have an 8 week half term coming so o planned this week to be local, low key and chilled

We have done a few fun things too - cinema, adventure playground on the only dry day and we have ice skating tomorrow!!

Crunchymum · 24/10/2019 19:53

Sorry, last day if half term tomorrow here

Greenbutterlfy566 · 24/10/2019 21:26

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 25/10/2019 09:36

I have an eight week half term coming too. This week is half term break. The weeks the children are at school are half terms. That’s the terminology used IN school anyway. Next week I will start autumn half term 2. In January I will start spring half term 1, will have a half term break in February followed by spring half term 2.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 25/10/2019 16:21

It's not true that only private schools get longer than a week, some local authorities are doing a 2 week half term this October and having a week less in the summer holidays instead. The county next to ours is doing it although mine isn't yet.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 26/10/2019 09:20

Anyone else?
