Wish headache would fuck off

I've had a pounding headache since Saturday.
It's kind of in a V shape, going across the front of my head, down between my eyes, back up and across my head again.

It's awful.

Pain killers haven't worked.
Drinking water hasn't worked.
Sleep hasn't worked.
Staying off screens hasn't worked.
Lying in a quiet, dark room hasn't worked.

I'm dreading work tomorrow. I work in a baby room in a nursery.

I'm struggling to sleep because the pain is so bad. I just want to cry.

Anyone have any tips? Or anything I may not have tried yet?

You need to be checked by a doctor if all that hasn't shifted your headache.

I already have an appointment for Thursday, I'm just absolutely sick of this now and I'm desperate for relief.

Could it be a sinus headache? Maybe try steaming? With a cloth over your head breathing in the hot air...it’s not very nice but might help

Sounds like sinus to me. Try sinus relief tablets, I've been eating them since Saturday. The pain was awful.

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 21/10/2019 23:06

Sounds like a sinus headache which is excruciating. Starting steaming with boiling water and olbas oil in a steam mug 3x a day for 2 weeks and it should help.

See the GP as well especially as you have an appointment but I'll be my mortgage it's a sinus headache.

Also try Vitamin D, C, Zinc - all good for immunity. And peppermint tea. Bloody headaches.

Try Tesco or Superdrug Migraine relief with Lysine. Its £2.00.

It has to have Lysine.

It gets rid of mine within 20 minutes.

I was standing crying in Superdrug raiding the shelves for anything lavender based, as I read that helps (it does), especially inhaling lavender oil through a facial steamer I got from Argos.

I picked up the tablets out of desperation and within an hour we were at the park having a very brisk walk in the fresh air, and playing in the kids area, It was a game changer.

Mine was 2 weeks post viral. Awful.

Get well soon Flowers

I tried steaming last night. No change so far, but will keep trying.
I already take a multivitamin. Working with babies, you've got to be prepared for all sorts of germs!
I shall nip to the pharmacy today and see if they have anything with Lysine in.

Thanks everyone.

Tesco and Superdrug have them on the normal shelf, I keep a spare pack as well.

You can take paracetamol alongside them. Make sure you have something small to eat with the Lysine.

Drink lots of water as well.

Like loads more than usual!

Totally agree with the lysine suggestion. Normally ibuprofen with lysine for me.

CakeNinja · 22/10/2019 08:17

Can you get hold of some migraine tablets?
I had sinusitis and a migraine at once, the tablets helped with the pain within about half an hour. I had tried the same as you, water, lying in a dark room, no screens etc, absolutely no changes.
Hope you feel better soon, it’s awful. Mine came at the tail end of some kind of virus where I was sick for a few days, felt really under the weather for a couple of weeks then an ear infection joined the party Sad
