DH and I were discussing randomly when we were first allowed a TV in our bedrooms as kids. I remember I was about 10 and had left the TV on quite late. I watched a film about a teenage boy who befriends a very troubled boy. He ends up shooting a man but I can’t remember anything else so this may be a long shot! I also remember a scene where the good boy is sitting in a car with his dad just looking at the troubled boy on his bike and me feeling really anxious that someone else was going to get shot. This would have been an 80s/90s film. Any guesses?

Let Him Have it Craig? It was based on events near my home (although long before I was born) so I always felt a proprietorial interest in it.

Just googled it, it’s actually just called Let Him Have It.
