The number 13

My sister is about to put her house on the market. The agent has told her to change the number 13 on the front of the house to a house name instead as it may put people off. Would it put you off? Incidently she has had a lot of luck since living there as they say number 13 lucky for some!

Houses with names tend to sell better. But it’s silly being superstitious about a number. If it’s priced right nobody cares.

I lived on a road where they missed out the number 13 altogether so it went 11, then 15.

It wouldn't put me off but some people still think it is unlucky although if you ask them why it is unlucky they cannot tell you Grin

I think it stems from Jesus and the last supper with 13 sitting down for the last supper.

Fuck sake some people really are dafter than a brush.

It wouldn’t put me off and I wouldn’t change the number.

I used to live at no.15. This was a few years ago but next door (no.13) sold ridiculously quickly and went to sealed bids. I know some people might be bothered but most don’t care.

I lived in a number 13 and I loved that house

Bloody ridiculous to change the number. Does the agent really think people are that stupid a number will put them off?!
