I've just started noticing people are using "effecting" instead of "affecting"

It’s a common mistake. I’m sure people would be the effort to check in a formal situation

Maybe... Although I've seen people using it on mummy FB groups and they'll do it over and over again. Side note: I'm being induced so yes I have a very low pain threshold ATM!
