Im about to move into a new house and the place needs gutting.

In anticipation of getting the keys, I've started to look at paint and flooring (not to mention sofas etc - DS(4) and I are literally starting from scratch following the breakdown of a LTR)

I've been looking online for inspiration, but i'll be honest, im getting a little overwhelmed with the whole thing, so i'm calling on you wise mumsnetters for help!

The room isn't massive (12 x 11), SE facing... Im aiming for something that looks nice and bright in the day but cosy in the evening, neutral, warm, homely...

What colours and flooring would you suggest?

If I was starting from scratch I would have soft, warm grey as the base - so easy to accessorise with mustard, teal, blush, red or indeed other monochrome shades.

Wood flooring with a rug. Warm grey walls, possibly paper?

Colour - maybe with dusky pinks if you like girly colours or a lovely chalky blue or olive green as if it's SE it'll take it as it'll be light.

Grey and plum

I was leaning towards grey, but I have no idea what a warm grey is...

I think its fair to say I am completely clueless when it comes to stuff like this!

Ours is pale grey with blush pink and chalky minty green accents. I love it, it's so relaxing.

I love the bobbins.at.number.18 account on Instagram. Her home is so warm, I’m pretty much in the middle of copying it all.
