Slow cooker beef, how long?

I’ve thrown away the bloody packed for our beef and have no idea how much beef we brought, it’s a large joint.. I’ve put the slow cooker on high, it’s been in since about 11:30 and I seared it on all edges in the pan first. I’ve told my step dad and sister to come round for 2pm.

What’s the chances of it being done?!😫

Slow cooker rule of thumb is 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low in my house.

If it only went in at 11:30 it's not going to be done for 2. 4 hours at a minimum and it could need more if it's a big joint.

faaaaaaaaaaack

No room in the oven to blast it either!

Any advice to save me?

Yes sorry, normally 8 hours on the low setting.

Can you get the get the meat off and fry it somehow?

Or pop to shops and buy something else and keep that in the slow cooker for your dinner...

Tough one.

I've put a large joint of beef in my slow cooker at 11, am not anticipating it being ready to eat before 10pm, on low. I'm on a late shift and it's my tea...

What about getting it out, cutting in half and cooking on the hob then finishing off in the slow cooker?
