Stupid question but...

Is there an app that I can use to plot my route through the woods so I can find my way back to the car park?! Grin
There’s a brilliant area which I go to sometimes but i always walk the same route because I know the way back to the car.
I want to branch off because it’s huge but I’m always worried I will get properly lost and will never be able to get out again!
How stupid is that?!
I’ve been elsewhere and managed to use the maps app on my phone to see where I was and roughly work out where the car park was so been able to work it out that way but I’d like to be able to sort of put a ‘pin’ in where i start (so at my car) and just go wandering.
Does map my walk work for that?
I told you it was a stupid question Grin

Google maps will let you pin a parking place.

I use map my walk, it shows where you are and distance, time, speed, calories.

AliceLittle · 20/10/2019 08:48

Open maps is an open source app which you may find other people have already marked out trails in your local woods which don't appear on Google. You can also drop a pin where you've parked your car.

Thanks all, I dropped a pin in maps and it worked okay. Was going to download map my walk but it said there was a free trial and then a £30 subscription cost!
I’m sure I used to use it and it was free Shock
