Do I pretend I don't know?!

Just found out through an email confirmation of a my 'surprise' cocktail class/ birthday party.. I know many DH get stuck for 'dropping the hall' on birthdays so I am thrilled.
I'm secretly relived, just order a new dress (as I would have nothing nice to wear).
However, do I pretend I don't know and act surprised or fess up?!

Keep it quiet. Buy the dress and act surprised. He’s done a nice thing for you.

Ooh nice... When is it?

PennyGold · 19/10/2019 23:15

Thanks @CakeNinja I'll practice my surprise face!
It's next week @managedmis I'm still in complete surprise!

Definitely pretend. Don't ruin the surpriseSmile

So you've time to say plenty of cryptic things like 'ooh, I really fancy going for cocktails' lol

Many years ago i took my car in for service, when i picked it up they gave me details of another car, a new MG my hubby was buying me as a surprise, he still doesn't know I knew.

My husband is terrible at surprises, and tends to get over excited and give them away. For my birthday this year, he was insistent it would be a proper surprise... which it would have been except the tickets arrived in an envelope which gave it away! I left the post on the doormat and pretended to have left for work before the postman arrived. He still doesn’t know that I knew, and was so proud of himself for keeping it a surprise I didn’t want to ruin it.

Yes, pretend you don't know. It's the best of both worlds for you really.
