Varnishing clay decorations?

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 19/10/2019 18:27

Posting in chat for traffic.
I bought a Christmas ornament paint-it-yourself kit for children and have been painting some ornaments with my daughter.
The ornaments are clay and come with poster paint. I've really gotten into it and painted some with a mixture of poster paint and my arteza brush pens lol
My question is, once dried, can I varnish the ornaments and if so, what's the best varnish to use?
Thanks!

Hello, we use this varnish, for Christmas decorations and other air dry clay creations.

Staedtler varnish

I make and sell these kits. I advise that if you do want to seal them, use an acrylic spray gloss sealant.

I use pva glue to varnish all my art projects.

Well....I read this as "vanishing" and was totally invested.

Thanks for the recommendations! I hope my ornaments won't be vanishing Grin
