Boring thread alert - help me find new phone games?

Got a new phone, been playing castle story and other storm 8 games for years but not been playing lately as got bored of them but I like that TYPE of game - where there's a "story" that's developing and you can progress. But I'm not one for liking battles or spending loads if anything on games (tight budget)

Over the years I've also enjoyed playing trivia/quiz games, word games, puzzle games (solitaire, sudoku etc) and match 3 games

Kinda think I want something new but also know what I do and don't like?

Not into fight/shoot em ups or racing games type things

Try Monumnet, it’s a puzzle type of game with many different levels

I'm playing Mergical at the moment which as the name suggests, is one of those where you merge stuff to make other stuff and progress.

Also playing Delicious World, which is a new take on the Emily Delicious food serving time management games.

Both are awesome, if you like that kind of thing, which I do.

Mergical looks like a much younger aimed version of castle story so might be one I'd like. Reviews are a bit worrying

I'm also thinking board and card games - which would people recommend? There's a few "board games compendium" type apps does anyone use those?

I can play chess as in I know the moves but my strategy aspect is poor I'd like to improve that

I’m obsessed with Wizards Unite, the Harry Potter PoGo game.

@Graphista it's like Merge Dragons but I prefer it. I've been playing a couple of months and I haven't spent any money.

And card games, I spend weeks at a time playing Uno online!

Not really a Harry Potter fan plus I'm housebound at the moment so Pokemon go type games not really feasible sorry should have said.

I've not heard of merge dragons is mergical challenging enough for an adult not to get quickly bored? Castle story was challenging with time limited tasks etc but I found they were getting very repetitive as most challenges involved chopping trees or rocks which isn't exactly brain challenging.

I've never played uno, is it easy to learn? I've only played traditional card games like blackjack, rummy etc I'd LOVE to learn to play poker but have tried MANY times to find an app that teaches it to no avail, they all assume at least a basic knowledge, I don't even know which cards constitute which kind of hand I need the very basics.

Uno is really easy to learn! You should try it, it's great fun.

Have you tried plague Inc? You have to try to infect and kill the world. As you win on each type of plague it unlocks the next one.

I'm really enjoying Don't Get Fired, Bitlife, Dr Mario World and Dumb Ways to Die.

Geometry Dash is good but infuriating!

@WelliAmNot did you mean Monument Valley? That’s a lovely puzzle game.

High rise heroes is my current favourite word game.

I’m also loving 80 Days, it’s based on the 80 Days Around the World novel. And seconding the recommendation for Plague Inc, that’s a fantastic game.

I love Fishdom but not really cards, you win games get money and buy fish and tank decorations for your fishies ... sounds ludicrous writing it down but it's good (level 3000 +) lol

I play bubble shooter, word trip and huuge casino, I've win millions on it, love playing with pretend money

Oh and solitaire and category quiz are two of my favorites

I had fishdom but got bored of it. I've downloaded trusted favourites scrabble abc othello so far.

Would love a good chess app recommendation I'll check out the others more fully tomorrow as it's getting late
