Induction Waiting Game 😔😴

My partners due date is just under two weeks away, she's been diagnosed with OC (Obstetric Cholestatis). Induction date was given for yesterday, we arrived yesterday evening to be told the ward is too busy so they can't do the induction however if we leave she will loose her bed.
Fast-forward to today it's lunch time and they are still claiming its too busy so we are sat here waiting and waiting, has anyone else had any experiences of this, one very tired and frustrated woman?!

I was induced on the day I went in (around 11am) and my waters broke about 10.30pm that same night. However I was then left for a further 36 hours before being taken to the labour suite when my baby had a higher than normal heart rate and my waters showing meconium and we subsequently ended in an emergency c section because my baby was distressed.

I think I'd rather have been told we had to wait before the gel had been given as at least then my baby would have been less at risk, however, I dont know the implications of your current condition so if she feels it's right to do so, push to be induced sooner. Hospitals are horrendously overstretched but sometimes you have to be "selfish" - I didnt advocate for myself enough because I relied on the midwives being the experts over my own instinct and it put my baby in danger, I will push much harder next time if I feel something isn't right.

I'm currently on day 3!

Was given pessary on day 1. Then wait 24hrs and it didn't work. Given 2 lots of gel on day 2. Has done something so day 3 (now) moved onto labour ward at 7am to have my waters broken/put on drip and my midwife was called away on emergency so now we are waiting

Inductions are a long process.... I was ready for that

We were expecting the actual induction to possibly be quite a long process but we never thought we would be sat here for 2 days plus before they even did an examination or started anything, surely they could have just phoned before we came and said don't come yet, it seems crazy, noone sleeps in hospitals so the longer it goes on the more tired she will get and then when in labour it will be harder. The whole point of being here was to be induced because of the risk to mother and baby
