Have nc for this. So, emptied the washing machine tonight, and found quite a long piece of rope type string. I did not put it there, and live alone! Ghosts in the machine?

Drawstring from a pair of shorts/pyjamas/dress that’s come loose?

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 18/10/2019 23:50

hi no it's not that kind of string - industrial stuff, which smells of petrol/tarmac

Has someone been sharing your washing machine? I’ve read about intruders breaking into houses to make meals and sleep in beds (not to scare you).

No, the last visitors I had were family with small children, but the washing machine was closed, and I've washed since then anyway.

It's weird because the other day, I could swear I left my brolly outside 'up' to dry off and when I got home it was down, but I could be wrong about that.

I'm in rented accommodation but no one has been in, or requested to be in. The landlord mentioned something about it being time for the boiler certificate to be done, and said the guy would be in touch to arrange a time, but he hasn't. Landlord said the guy had a key. That's all I can think of, but no certificate and I am certain that LL would have told me if the guy had been.

Something from the production line which has worked its way loose I’d guess
