Just got this in my last grocery shop after trying to get it for a while.

It seems a bit of an mn favourite and I used to love Worcestershire sauce and hear this is a good sub.

But somehow my brain has gone blank for ideas/recipes to use it in.

I'm sure you viperous lot have loads Smile

Yes I am vegetarian but if you have meat recipes it works in I am willing to try and adapt them so hit me with your ideas/recipes

It adds great depth in a tomato based sauce (ie spaghetti bolognaise). Also works well in pies and soups, especially where you have root veg that can really absorb the flavours.

I once put it in a teriyaki sauce and it was very nice too.

I add it to spag bol, chili, sausage casserole, like the previous poster said anything tomato based really. Gives it a bit of a kick.

Anything and everything.

Spag Bol, chilli and casseroles are staples here so will try in all those. Soups in winter too.

Queef Grin I can be guilty of that kinda thing with savouries can easily lick a marmite spoon/knife clean no problem

TheQueef · 18/10/2019 17:43

It features heavily in this pop video.
Anything and everything Grin
Warning though, there is twerking in it.

Graphista · 18/10/2019 17:45

Might get flamed for this one - would it work on avocado on toast?

OP posts:
TheQueef · 18/10/2019 17:47

No one ever tried that because it's silly.
Potted Meat on toast or toast and dripping aye.
Avocado indeed.
Dirty cat.

Twigletgirl27 · 18/10/2019 17:51

@Graphista slightly off topic but have you tried marmite peanut butter? OMG, eaten loads straight out of the jar!

Graphista · 18/10/2019 17:53
Grin

No potted meat or dripping here.

Would it really be gross with avocado do we think?

What about in Mac cheese? Baked beans? Tinned spaghetti? Creamed mushrooms on toast?

OP posts:
Svalberg · 18/10/2019 17:55

I put it on top of the cheese on Staffordshire oatcakes - delish

Sparrowlegs248 · 18/10/2019 17:58

Not veggie, sorry, but I love it in a nice stew, shepherds pie, any other meaty pie, added like a sauce rather than stirred in.

Graphista · 18/10/2019 17:58

I've not tried the peanut butter marmite yet no might add to shopping list

Graphista · 18/10/2019 19:58

Henderson is awesome! I generally find it milder in flavour than Worstershire so generally add it to food once cooked rather than during - so cheese on toast, soups, beans etc.

Also fab on chips! The vinegar base makes it a brilliant substitute for malt vinegar.
