Parking in Bath

If you were going to Bath on a Sunday, would you still use the Park and Ride? (I think the Lansdown Road looks closest to the direction I'd be coming from). Or are there better/easier places to park nearer the centre of town on a sunday (residents bays etc that don't apply on Sundays or something)? I was thinking of coming very early to miss the traffic, possibly earlier than the buses start, though I could wait til they do, if it's definitely a better idea to use P&R.

If you staying less than 4 hours the Waitrose car park is good right in the centre and usually spaces

I’d generally p&r. Don’t know of any resident parking that’s weekdays only.

It’s free parking at Victoria Park on a Sunday and that’s a lovely scenic short walk into the centre of town.

thanks, will check out Victoria Park - is that easy to get to from the side of town I'd be coming from? I wouldn't like to get tied up in one way systems or pedestrianised areas or all these other things that I'm familiar with from other touristy cities.

I might be longer than 4 hours. I read somewhere about some resident areas being free on Sundays, but they also said there was no park and ride on Sundays (which there obviously is now), so I suspect that it was an old site and all of that has changed.

Free is good, don't mind paying if it's reasonable, mostly want easy driving and easy to get to the centre. Will do P&R if needed, just thought it might be a bit of extra hassle, especially if I want to go in before the buses start, and have early coffee or breakfast.

It’s central - you walk in front of the Royal Crecent to get into town, which is a pretty scenic way to start the day! It’s the right side of town if you’re coming in via Landsdown Road. Take a look at Google maps for the best route in and then for how to walk the 10ish minutes into town from the parking.

I just checked on Parkopedia and there’s no restrictions on how long you can park in Victoria Park on a Sunday. Have a fun day!

thank you! It's not a council car park is it? I didn't see it on the council site. It sounds ideal for what I need

oh I see, the council have it listed as street-parking, but I've found it now, there seem to be lots of areas within the park.
