DD 12 itchy legs in evening - thoughts?

Hi all, I know that this isn't a health board, but I just wanted general advice as it's only a nuisance rather than a big health worry...

So my DD for the last 3 weeks has been suffering form itchy thighs in the evenings, the top of her legs above the knee caps, not inner thighs really, but generally all over. Fine in the morning and all through the day (unless wearing wooly school tights), still happens at sleepovers, no rash or bites or spots. I've given her antihistamine tablets, and anti-itch cream, but I can't work out what it is.
Any thoughts?
Off to bed now, so will answer any questions in the am, but would grateful of some ideas of how to treat, or ideally, to stop.
Thanks!

We do have a cat, her flea treatments are up to date, and she doesn't go into DD's room either. Same washing liquid.

I wonder if it's hormonal too, and she seems to be growing really fast at the moment, maybe it's skin stretching?
I got home about 6 last night, i gave her a multi-vit and then she didn't itch at all until she was getting ready for bed. Not itching this evening either, but it's still early.
Thanks so much everyone, I really appreciate you all helping out.

I get this when I eat gluten! As a child I used to scratch them so much they bled

I used to get very itchy feet at bedtime at that age. I found body shop peppermint foot cream really helpful.

She stayed at a friends house for a sleepover and was still itchy- they have no pets - I might have to take her to gp now as nothing seems to be working. We have family bupa so may get referred for allergy testing. It seems trivial but it’s getting her down and I’d like to get it sorted.
