What does your 4 year old read?

My DD is 4 just started reception in September. Used to love books, read a pile every night since being a baby.

Now all of a sudden she has started saying she doesn't want a bedtime story!! I'm a bit heartbroken tbh! She seems to have grown up so suddenly over a half term and wondering if she has just outgrown the books we have at home.

I know how important it is that she reads with me so she develops a love of reading independently!

So... What might I tempt her with?! What do your 4yos read? Have their tastes changed?

Thanks!

My 4 yo reads everything. She started getting bored with the books at home so we joined the library and she gets a pile of new books every Saturday, she loves her trips to the library and will spend a couple of hours just looking at books.

We've started getting the phonics readers too and she loves reading them herself. Only on level 2/3 but she's so proud to read a 'story' on her own.

She can't yet read anything herself, but she still likes being read to. It doesn't seem to have changed since starting school. She likes us to read Mog stories, Funnybones, Disney story books (Up, Brave, Lion King), Dr Seuss books from the library, a ridiculous book about a giraffe who should wear glasses but won't, Zog, Winnie the Witch stories.
