Blood tests repeated

Hi everyone!

This is my first post.

I am a mother of 2 under 5 and I'm 30 in a few weeks.

I went to the doctor's a few months ago with itching particularly across my chest and stomach I thought it was stress as a lot was going on and ignored it for a few weeks until it was driving me mad!

Whilst at the doctor's she gave me some cream and ordered a liver and kidney function test and a FBC test. I had these the liver and kidney came back fine but my blood test showed low platelets, low lymphocytes and high neutrophils. I had to go and repeat the blood test and they've come back again with another drop in platelets and so I have to have it repeated again - this will be the 3rd blood test I have asked to speak to the Doctor but she is not available when I call and when I've tried to make an appt she isn't in on the days I can do as she's only part time.

A big part of me is also telling myself in being unreasonable and they're doing the tests I need and I just need to wait but not being told what this could mean and anything to do with it is also playing havoc on my mind!

Can anybody shed any light if you've had low platelets what was the diagnosis or the outcome and any other details.

Thanks for any help it is gratefully received - also I know some people may say you shouldn't be asking us were not doctors and I know and appreciate you are not I'm just looking for a little reassurance through a difficult time as a mother!

Thanks again!

Hi, I just wondered what the outcome of this was as going through a similar thing. Hope it was all okay for you.
