Has anyone seen pressed powder compacts with mirrors about?

Those little plastic compacts with a round cake of powder and a mirror in the lid. They used to be a standard thing, but now I can't find one anywhere (I did find one online, but it was a very very expensive brand, and a stupid price). Now all the pressed powder is in a container with a screw-top or lift-off lid, and no mirror. I don't understand why. What use is that when you're out and about and want to touch up your make-up? I really want a new one because my old one is nearly worn out. I'm a desperate woman.

I could go back to a vintage compact for loose powder, but they're a faff and they weigh more.

The Maybelline one has a mirror underneath

Wow! I think this could be the answer - the mirrors have started hiding underneath. Right, I am going shopping. Will report back.

Yes the no 7 one you linked definitely has a mirror I just checked mine! I cart it about in my bag constantly and the powder is still in good condition.

I found four. They're all twice as big and twice as heavy as the old-style ones, and not as easy to use with the mirrors on the bottom. I think if I'm going to have to carry something heavier around, I might as well use a vintage metal compact.

God, it's so depressing when decent, useful products go out of production.

Thanks for all the help and ideas.

Primark sell them, at least they did a few months ago...

The Max Factor infinity is very good. It's not especially cheap at £11, but they often have 3 for 2 deals at Boots.

Glittertwins · 15/10/2019 16:36

Chantecaille at SpaceNK etc have them as I have one.

DoraleeRhodes · 15/10/2019 17:20

Benefit do a good one, mirror in the lid and brush/sponge under the powder (it lifts up)

Angrybird123 · 15/10/2019 18:14

I live and die with the Clinique one. It's basically the only make up I use

shalo2 · 15/10/2019 18:42

I have a Revlon compact and the mirror is underneath. I didn't realise the mirror was there till about a month after I had used it every day!

Cheesymonster · 15/10/2019 18:44

I like Mac blot powder. The ones with the mirrors underneath drive me potty.

Autumnfresh · 15/10/2019 18:44

boots no7 as already mentioned, boots 17 used to do them and if you're flash with the cash chanel do a gorgeous one that last ages and works a treat.

TheAnnoyingSatsuma · 15/10/2019 18:46

I have the No 7 one (translucent pressed powder) and have just finished an M&S Autograph one. Both standard size/weight black plastic.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/10/2019 18:47

I’ve got a maybillene one. It’s a half moon mirror, but works ok. I keep it in my bag so it doesn’t get used much.

NameChange84 · 15/10/2019 18:51

I also use Mac Studiofix and that or Charlotte Tilbury's pressed powder are what I use for touch ups whilst out. The Charlotte Tilbury compact is gold and looks beautiful.

ChanChanChan · 15/10/2019 18:52

MAC Blot powder, the mirror is in the lid. It does come in several colours, but IMO the colour is quite sheer as it's meant to blot oily skin rather than provide coverage. My favourite oil blotting solution.

Busydrinkingcoffee1 · 15/10/2019 18:53

I use an Avon one like below OP it's very small and light and mirror where it should be! Often on offer to so is a bonus!

Boots no7 have an OK one (makes me quite oily as the day goes on though) and bodyshop do one though if you are very pale there might not be a light enough shade.

Hourglass did one too but I don't know if they still do

Avonandice · 15/10/2019 18:56

Have a look at Avon, they have a couple and I dont think they are too heavy.

NameChange84 · 15/10/2019 19:03

Oh yes, the Avon Anew one was quite good I found.

GrumpyHoonMain · 15/10/2019 19:05

Soap and Glory

TheFormidableMrsC · 15/10/2019 19:06

I use a Bourjois one that has a mirror in the base, not the lid so not immediately obvious.

thenewname · 15/10/2019 20:12

Maybelline fit me definitely has a mirror!

managedmis · 15/10/2019 20:14

Cover girl has one - not sure if they do cover girl in the UK though

MonstranceClock · 15/10/2019 20:17

My smashbox powder has a mirror and it’s really light.

Southwest12 · 15/10/2019 20:18

Mac mineralise skin finish powder has a mirror in the lid. Primark do a powder foundation that has a mirror in the lid, and is only £2!
