Do you spring out of bed or keep hitting snooze?

The second the alarm goes off I leap out of bed like a Jack-in-a-box.
I'm up instantly.
But I did go through a brief phase of '5 more minutes'.
I much prefer the heart attack inducing leaping.
Whats your style to start the day?

Make that leaper, lol! And leader!

AliciaMayEmorysOutfit · 15/10/2019 09:06

I’m a multiple alarm person on dark mornings. Hoping to buy one of those gradual light alarm clocks to ward it off!

MsChatterbox · 15/10/2019 09:32

I jump up. But my alarm clock is my toddler so no choice. My husband sets 10 alarms an hour before he needs to get up. It is so annoying.

adaline · 15/10/2019 09:51

I feel much better if I just get up, but sometimes it's too tempting to just stay warm and toasty!

AthollPlace · 15/10/2019 09:53

I spring out of bed. Purely because I like to sleep as long as possible, so I set my alarm as late as I can, thus leaving no time to snooze. I don’t understand why you’d prefer to spend the last ten minutes awake but snoozing when you could spend them actually asleep?

Nottobesoldseparately · 15/10/2019 10:25

Both.
Getting up for work?? I snooze.

Wake up naturally on a weekend/holiday/day off I will get up as soon as I wake. Which is usually before my alarm goes off for a work day !!

MissPepper8 · 15/10/2019 10:29

Snooze.. I'm a night owl anyway but pregnant suffering with insomnia, I can't function without my snooze button.

However if I knew something really important was going on or I had to be early, for some reason I always wake before my alarm goes off.

RaeCJ82 · 15/10/2019 10:32

In spring/summer I get out of bed pretty much straight away, but as the mornings get darker through autumn and winter, I really struggle to leave the warmth and comfort of my bed and I turn into a bit of a snoozer. OH is a year-round snoozer!

JigsawsAreInPieces · 15/10/2019 10:38

If I set an alarm I'm awake every few minutes or so all night worrying in case I miss the alarm. I tend to wake naturally between 6 am and 7 am anyway so as I’ve retired I can take my time getting up (and often take a cuppa back to bed with me)

When I was working I tended to take a moment to wake properly and then straight in the shower.

Blobby10 · 15/10/2019 12:38

Normally I get up as soon as the alarm goes off at 5am and head to the gym (sometimes with my eyes still closed!) but am staying at parents whilst in between houses and haven't got the gym motivation so am snoozing until 6.30! I have home workouts to do but I need the outdoors to wake me up properly and whilst parents live in the middle of nowhere with plenty of fields and space to exercise in, the incessant rain of the past few days reduced my enthusiasm for going out to exercise - wonder why?!!! Never thought I would miss living in the suburbs tbh Grin

Wotrewelookinat · 15/10/2019 12:54

I’m a lark, love getting up early, often wake up and get up before alarm and find it almost impossible to have a lie-in at the weekends! To counteract that though I have to be in bed by 10pm! No parties for me!

megletthesecond · 15/10/2019 12:56

Just one snooze. I have low blood pressure so need 5 mins to have a drink and sit up.

IdblowJonSnow · 15/10/2019 15:55

Snoozer/Night owl/lazy cow. I admit it all!

IdblowJonSnow · 15/10/2019 15:56

The only times I have ever 'sprung' anywhere is if I've a plane or other mode of transport to catch.

Kinsters · 15/10/2019 16:03

I normally wake up before my alarm goes off then snooze until it actually goes off at which time I get up straight away. So I guess I'm a combo! DH needs at least 15 minutes lying in bed after his alarm goes off so he sets his 15 minutes before mine and then gets up when I get up.

DogAndCatPerson · 15/10/2019 16:05

Multiple snoozes

sugarbum · 15/10/2019 16:14

Instant usually, but certainly not a springer. More of a slow slider followed by a stagger

alwaysstressed · 15/10/2019 20:28

I was a springer all my life until the past 3 months or so when I just cannot get up at all.
I set my alarm for 5.30 then snooze every 10 minutes until about 6.40 then need to run about crazy coz im late!
Maybe it's because im getting older, my old lady body doesn't spring anywhere anymore.

MrsJBaptiste · 15/10/2019 20:34

I just don't get the point of snoozing the alarm. You set the alarm for 6am and snooze it until 6.30 - why? You could have had another half an hours unbroken sleep instead of half sleeping while the bloody thing makes noises every 10 minutes 😒

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 15/10/2019 20:36

I'm a snoozer but I'm definitely not lazy.

My alarm goes of at 5.45 and I snooze it until 6.15. I'm then up and out of the house by 7.20 and out for 11 hours before coming home to do all the home stuff...

The snoozing makes me feel like I'm getting something extra and I'm permanently exhausted!

IceniSky · 15/10/2019 20:36

Half the week I'm up at 0520. I find it easy. Straight into shower. When I can get up at 0650, I find it so hard and do sometimes snooze.

DartmoorChef · 15/10/2019 20:39

Ive been known to snooze for five hours... 😂

I planned on getting up at 8am to get stuff done around the house before my afternoon shift. I got up just in time to go to work.

redchocolatebutton · 15/10/2019 20:40

get up instantly but then need 15 min with a cuppa staring into space.

OldAndWornOut · 15/10/2019 20:43

I dare not snooze, because i'll keep hitting the button and then end up turning it off completely and oversleeping.
I absolutely hate getting up.

DotBall · 15/10/2019 20:46

I use Sleep Cycle alarm which wakes me gently / snooze it for half an hr before I actually need to get up. Also got a radio alarm that has a light that gets brighter. Consequently I’m woken gently and ready to get up at 6.20.

If I’m woken suddenly with a traditional alarm I’m a she-bitch from hell.
