I’m having a total brain fart moment.

I want to say it’s .... to be the biggest event of the year. But not meant, or going to be. It’s something else. I’m thinking scripted, def not that but similar

Destined?

MustardScreams · 14/10/2019 18:50

Maybe not similar.

I’m going to kick myself when someone suggests it!!

@FlibbertyGiblets bloody hell, sorry!!! The last one was on my TIO and I didn’t check. Slapped wrists immediately!

OP posts:
MustardScreams · 14/10/2019 19:05

I’ve got to get a completely ridiculous invite out for an event that absolutely will not be the biggest of the year, and my brain has exited the skull. Wine immediately!

I wonder if it's just me who had never heard of that expression! Every day is a school day.

yourestandingonmyneck · 14/10/2019 19:40

I've heard it, but I would usually associate "slated" as being a bad thing. Have never really thought about it seeming a bit weird in that context, have always just accepted it.

bobstersmum · 14/10/2019 19:47

Never heard that before!

Sunshine1239 · 14/10/2019 20:04

Yes to me slater means that it’s been ridiculed

MmmBlowholes · 15/10/2019 09:21

Slated is a bad thing...

desperatehousewife2 · 15/10/2019 11:25

Agree, would only have heard slated in the sense of being a negative thing. I thought ‘set’ when I read the initial post

MikeUniformMike · 15/10/2019 11:42

It can mean earmarked or criticized.

An actor coud be slated to appear in a film in 2020, or an actor could be slated by the critics for a poor performance.
