I was listening to this earlier and had exactly the same reaction OP! It is an 80's song I'm sure, in my head it's in the same little group of songs as stuff like Suzanne Vega's Luka and Toy Soldiers by Martika but I can't just grasp it yet. Will muse on it some more, hopefully it will just pop into my head at some point

I do love First Aid Kit, theres a great you tube video of them playing infront of EmmyLou Harris and they move her to tears.

Just been through my CD collection, I'm sure it's something I have on CD single but they're in a complete mess and I'm not satisfied my search was conclusive Both the name of the song and the artist are proving illusive but I'm fairly sure the cover was dark red and it was one of those cardboard sleeves rather than a plastic case. I think Miley Cyrus must have ripped them off as this song cane out in 2013 or 2014.

First Aid Kit are a Swedish band and if I remember correctly, both sisters were considered some sort of child musical progidies as youngsters, they were even taken out if school to be home educated so they could focus mostly on their music.

Do live their music, DH bought me the album this song was on when DD was a newborn. Used to listed to it all the time whilst lost in the 'baby bubble'
