Child maintenance payments to DC post-16

My DC is 16 and in the first year of 6th form. The father pays maintenance on a monthly basis but has asked when he should stop paying.

Information from googling is a bit vague, but as my DC is in full time education until past the age of 18 is the father liable for payments until the beginning of September following A Levels? Can’t get through to the CMS at the moment so posting here first just in case someone has the answer. Thanks.

I understand that he has to pay up until you stop getting child benefit. Best just to call the CMS to clarify though.

I would assume until they have finished A levels.

I have paid for all of my kids through their whole time at school (A-Levels) and until they had completed University. At that point, they could get a job and look after themselves.

18 is not a drop dead date.

Hugs for having to explain all of this to him. Geez.
