Threadworms - do they also cause constipation? Sorry...

Very sorry for TMI.

We've discovered this evening that DD (6) has threadworms. We discovered it because she has nasty constipation with lots of mucus, and we were sitting next to her to comfort her while she was on the loo. Could I ask - when your DC have had worms, do they also get constipated, or is that a separate issue? I can't find very much on the internet to suggest that constipation is a common symptom.

Mine didn't, the only symptom was very bad itching at night time, is there a late night chemist open by you?
Get some Ovex to treat them, the whole family will need to have some too.

Not on a Sunday, unfortunately. I'll go first thing in the morning, and boil everything in the house to within an inch of its life. Isn't parenting glamorous?!

Yes they never mention threadworms or nits in the baby books do they ? Just sweet cherubs dressed in lovely pastel outfits smiling sweetly to lure you in then bam next thing you know you are inspecting your child's poo intently and panicking every time your child touches their hair.
We should sue for misrepresentation ,
