Best tampons?

Currently on the lookout for some decent tampons. I hate to say it but the best ones for me were the plastic applicator ones from Aldi but I’m trying to be more sustainable and they don’t do them anymore anyway. Trouble is I can’t use the cardboard applicator ones I’ve tried so far. It’s been impossible to get a good grip on them so I can’t insert them properly iyswim. Can anyone recommend any brands please? Ideally one I can get in the shops as my period is due tomorrow and I’ve run out of plastic applicator ones. I’ve ordered a reusable tampon applicator but it’ll take some time to get here so I need a stop gap in the meantime. Thank you!

Tampax pearl if you're looking for plastic applicators.

Lil-lets are definitely the best for me. They have plastic applicators or cardboard. I use the non applicator ones.

Lillets for me too. I have heavy periods and they are the only ones that don't leak.

I find it hard to get lillets applicator ones as they only sell non applicator in my local supermarkets. Sometimes discount chemists sell them

BringOnTheScience · 13/10/2019 21:57

Lillets non-applicator. Just get used to using a finger!

Thistles24 · 13/10/2019 22:07

Another lillets non applicator vote here!

dementedpixie · 13/10/2019 22:08

I don't like non applicator

Ebonyandivory2 · 13/10/2019 23:03

Thanks for the suggestions! I don’t like non applicator but I’ve purchased a reusable applicator so I won’t need to depend on plastic ones. Will try tampax tomorrow

Tampa regular
Not the cardboard ones.

Gotthetshirt23 · 14/10/2019 00:08

Have a little consideration to the plastic use in certain tampons PLEASE
I'm constantly picking them up while litter picking along the local beaches.
Cardboard is recycled.

Gotthetshirt23 · 14/10/2019 00:08

Thank you @Ebonyandivory2

Ebonyandivory2 · 14/10/2019 00:36

@Gotthetshirt23 I know I hate using the plastic ones but that’s all that’s worked for me so far. This next box I buy will be my last as I’ll have my own applicator that isn’t plastic.

@Gotthetshirt23 I don't think you can tell women what to use for their sanitary products.

Fuma · 14/10/2019 01:38

Cardboard isn't recycled when it's wrapped in tissue and put in the bin, which is what happens with cardboard applicators. OP please don't feel guilty for using necessary for you plastic products. Tampax pearl are I find really comfortable so I'd recommend them.
