My periods are hell lately. I am going to see gynae but it's due in the next few days and ibuprofen doesn't touch it.

I think I have endo?

Any ideas?

OTC Cocodamol - works well for me and I have painful peri-menopausal periods. Sometimes top up with nurofen if I need to as well.

I have awful pain and use buscopan to relax the muscles and the maximum dose of ibuprofen and paracetamol. I’m interested to know if a tens machine would work. I hope you get some relief.

The strongest OTC cocodamol you can buy has 12mg of codeine to 500mg of paracetamol - I think it's Solpadeine Max. Don't know if there are generic versions - they tend to be 8mg codeine.

You can alternate one or two of those with 400mg of ibuprofen - one dose of each every six hours.

Another good trick is to add in either Kwells or Buscopan to your cocodamol. That's because it contains hyoscine, which is an anti-spasmodic. But it can make you feel woozy so best to proceed with caution until you know if you are affected, and whether the balance of relief to wooze is worth it.

I buy solpadeine max tablets for really bad period pains and they work really well.

Was just coming to recommend solpadeine max qtoo, it has more codeine in it than cocodamol
