A new creepy stories thread...

I posted this on AIBU, and now realise it was probably the wrong place!

I’ve been reading the old ones for the past couple of days and am thoroughly intrigued by the paranormal and if it exists. Last year, I went to see a psychic who did know a lot of things that just isn’t on social media (I only have Twitter to write about football and my Instagram is locked down and no Facebook).

The only thing I’ve ever experienced is sleep paralysis. I’ve had it every few nights for years upon years, where I’m in bed and there is this huge fear over me, the darkness and like something else is in my bedroom. Then something is trying to pull my covers from me, gently at first and then it gets stronger and stronger, I then realise I’m dreaming and try to wake myself up. They only stopped for good earlier this year after I met my ex-partner, and I’ve never had them since meeting that person.
There’s always been a sense in my bedroom that it’s different from the other rooms in the house. It’s always either really really cold or really hot, and especially when it’s dark and the lights are out I feel like something is watching me - the psychic told me that this was my Grandad (and I hadn’t even mentioned how I felt in my bedroom) but why he’d want to frighten me and why I feel so much fear is another story.

So in the spirit of Halloween, does anyone have any other creepy stories to share?

I told one once about a ghost waking me up by touching my bum in a haunted hotel... but I don’t think anyone was very impressed. 😂

I posted on the old thread so nothing to add but looking forward to some new stories!

Your granddad wouldn’t pull covers off you. He may be there too but that’s not his doing....

When I was at school I had a Saturday job at an old stately home which did weddings, one Saturday we were putting the crockery away into the storage cupboard which was in a little room off a long corridor, as I stepped out of the room I stopped as I felt someone was about to walk into my path on the corridor, I looked and saw all this white blurry mist, I looked across to the colleague I was with who said can you see that too, I screamed and ran the hell out of there! I later found out the colleague I was working with was a psychic/clarevoyant and she said the mist I saw was a young maid and she was just as scared of me as I was of her!

Oh I hope this thread takes off! I love stories like this. I have one - not experienced by me, but my mom and dad who have told it many times!

They were on holiday with a group of friends and family. Everyone had been experiencing the odd thing here and there but nothing major i.e radio turning on, on its own etc.

A few days into the holiday, these occurrences became more frequent and more aggressive. Cups were thrown across the room and shattered against a wall.

That night, my mom and dad were sleeping, and my mom said she was carried across the room by something. She could feel it and see it but it didn't look like a person. It was gentle with her, which is odd considering everything else that had occurred in the room seemed to be of a more violent nature.

It carried her to the sofa, cradled her like a baby, and rocked her back and forth. Whilst all this was going on, my dad felt as though he was being held down to the bed and could not, for the life of him, move.

Their last morning in the hotel, they went down to the pool and a random woman came over to them and asked something along the lines of whether they had seen things too! My mom and dad told her they were leaving that night and she told them to be careful as whatever was in the room with them was attached to them and could become aggressive if it knew they were leaving!

Needless to say, my mom and dad were terrified and didn't pack their bags to leave until the last minute in hope they wouldn't frustrate whatever was in the room with them!
